I hope this isn’t really weird to say, but I am SO PROUD OF YOU! Have followed you since your early C&C days (I remember seeing your engagement post to your ex - that’s how long!), but I’ve really enjoyed seeing you coming into your own (without being patronising) over the past couple of years! I’ve been a follower from day one and as a fellow 36 year-old woman who’s choosing to be child free, this is honestly the safest place on the Internet, I feel!

I can’t even imagine when it was like being let go your job a couple of weeks ago and I just want to say I think you’ve really handled it with such grace! (also, don’t mean to be mean to them but isn’t this similar to what happened with Alina at C&C…?)

Really excited to hear you and Leslie’s chat! Thank you for this community!

I mean it! I can’t think of anywhere else I can talk freely about how fucking thankful I am that I dont have children and dont want children? 😂

Yessss! I thought the same thing when I read this post. They aren’t very good at parting ways with employees IMO.

Yo okay - I read Motherhood 4 years ago and it was formative for me. I passed it to a coworker and she said the same thing. I would also recommend “Olive” by emma gannon, it addresses so much in terms of friendship and motherhood and wow I’ve never been so seen or laughed out loud so much from a book. I’ve been doing a lot of “rereads” and Motherhood has been on the list to get back at. If you haven’t read her other book “How Should a Person Be”, that’s another must read. Can’t wait to do this reread with you!!

So excited! I was let go from a job in almost the exact same way and honestly am still processing it/traumatized by it years later. But you will be so much better for it. Onwards and upwards! Happy to keep supporting you!
