Okay just a quick scroll through the comments and I'm already laughing at how many Ravenclaws we have here. Ravenclaws tap in! Identify yourselves!

I love the enneagram. I’ve known I was a 4w5 since 7th grade. One thing I think is completely different about the enneagram is that encourages growth and provides you a path for that. There’s your type at it’s worse, it’s best, and in between. Then there are triads and subtypes, wings and harmony groups….it goes deep!!

My husband and I met in grad school where we did a whole 2 day workshop on the enneagram (he was a year above me so had already done it by the time we met). He told me he was a 4 and I immediately knew he wasn’t like me, a fellow 4 (a very 4 thing to think lol). I did some digging into my extensive enneagram book collection and decided he was a 3w4, which he know wholeheartedly identifies as. It always surprises me when 4/3 mistype as I don’t relate to the 3 *at all*. 100% pull to the 5.

You probably had a hard time identifying as a 4 because historically enneagram books/info haven’t been the kindest to 4s. They are often misunderstood (lol, again, such a 4 thing to say I know I know). More recently there seems to be better understanding of 4 beyond “melancholic, moody, dramatic.” Here are some podcasts about the enneagram I’ve really enjoyed and seem to really get at the heart of a 4 (and according to my husband, a 3): https://spotify.link/uABNFNxHKHb

I have never done the Enneagram...I would be curious to test for it. Like you, my Myers- Briggs is ENFJ! My late partner was ENFP...we had a horrible time shopping together...he would want to look at EVERYTHING and I would want to get what I came for and leave!!!

I'm confidently a 5, but MUCH more social/extroverted than they are typically described. It really sunk it when I felt cut to the core by the vices, and when I read about the relationship between a 5 and a 7 (my hubs) and it was spot on! Also Ravenclaw and basically your Myer's Briggs opposite as ESTP.

This is so fun!!! I'm an INTJ and an Enneagram 3w4 ... very failure/success-focused, quite anxious, v ambitious, v analytical! The downside is that one gets caught up in seeking external validation which ofc can be super unhealthy lol. I also have a strong six bent, which means I desire safety and stability, which is a major lol because I work in a notoriously unstable field oops!

I love these tests. I'm an ENFJ, a 6w7 (which took me a while to admit for whatever reason), Gemini, and Ravenclaw. I always find the Hogwarts house question fascinating because some people just pick their favorites while others have taken tests and might be in a different house than they thought they would be.

I LOVE a good personality test. It truly tells you so much about yourself and other people that can help you understand more - like why is this person that way? Oh, because XYZ trait, duh!

I’m a 2w3, INFJ, Capricorn (Cancer rising and Taurus moon - I love knowing these two as well since it’s a more well rounded overview of someone!), and Ravenclaw.

I just took the free enneagram quiz and it gave me a 9, which I kind of relate to but I feel like it only got half of my personality (and it doesn't show you more info without paying). The test I've related the most to and felt like was a perfect match is the true colors one - I'm green/yellow and I was like tearing up reading the descriptions because I felt so seen haha.

I loveeee the enneagram! I’m a 3 😅 I’ve found it’s such a helpful tool for understanding anxiety, self expression, relationship dynamics, all of it! And I love that it’s not about “type-casting” or prescribing a personality onto anyone.

I feel like we are exactly the same whoa. The way you described looking for a job "for people who are empathetic, connection-driven, and enjoy nurturing one-on-one relationships, but who also need to feel that they are able to authentically express their individual, unique identity while they’re making a difference in the world" is literally the exact thing I am looking for in a career as well! My therapist has been helping me through looking for new things and trying out new fields such as a therapist, social work, small business, etc). I am currently a high school teacher and I absolutely cannot do it anymore. What careers have you been looking into??? I'm so curious!! Can we just like start a business or something together??? 😅

I'm an INFJ, Type 4 (don't remember the wing), Pisces (Capricorn Rising and moon) and Hufflepuff

I love this! I'm a 7 but never remember my wing number... and haven't done an official test! But I wanted to share this ChatGPT prompt I created to help my clients find their brand voice. I help (mostly solo entrepreneurs) craft their unique brand and marketing strategy and the results from this prompt is so enlightening. Could be fun for you to take also b/c it helps combine all of your types to see what all of them as a whole says about you! Here's what I wrote in my newsletter last month:

----

Let's dive into your personal brand with a simple ChatGPT prompt. First, enter this prompt:

ChatGPT Prompt: Can you help me define my personal brand voice? Here's a mash-up of my personality traits, hobbies, work ethic, and a dash of astrological flair. Can you distill this into my personal brand essence and suggest how it might shape my brand voice?

Now for your mash-up of data that you give Chat:

I want you to draft a paragraph that paints a vivid picture of who you are. Sprinkle in the results from any personality-type tests or career assessments you've encountered over the years—think Myers-Briggs, Enneagram, Human Design, Astrology signs, you name it. Then add in more about you, your hobbies, passions, your career aspirations, how your friends would describe you, etc.

The goal here is authenticity, not perfection. Allow yourself a quick five-minute brainstorm. If it starts sounding like a dating profile, you are on the right track!

Then hit enter, and let the magic unfold.

----

It's so fun to see what it comes up with. Let me know if you try it!

Fellow Cancer and ENFJ here!🙋🏻‍♀️ I did a free enneagram test a couple years ago but forget the result. I’ll have to do one again and see does it resonate with me.

I’m a 5, not sure if there’s a wing in play—I’m more “emotional” than the usual 5 description, but not super creative, and I love practical applications. The parts that hit hardest for me are valuing competence and deeply fearing being considered incompetent or not knowing something. I’m a nurse, but I’ve always practiced in areas where I have greater degrees of autonomy and/or more skills-based vs. emotions (currently ICU, my dream patient is medically complex with no family around). I wonder if the descriptions are biased towards men? I certainly have curiosity about EVERYTHING, including people and relationships, not just things and ideas. Definitely the type who can find out anything about anyone with minimal info.

Virgo. Leo rising, which irritates me, and Virgo moon. I will check all the boxes. I will get shit done. There will be lists. Recovering overachiever. Grounded.

Ravenclaw. Competent, intelligent, snarky, but behind the scenes.

I’ve never gotten consistent results on Myers-Briggs, but always Introvert and Thinking, mixed on Intuition/Feeling and Judging/Perceiving (lean towards Judging, but with a good bit of self-awareness about it).

Have you thought about becoming a therapist? I'm currently about to start my training to become one myself which is a huge step for me and a complete career change (I'm working in media right now). Your paragraph about looking for a career that's suitable 'for people who are empathetic, connection-driven, and enjoy nurturing one-on-one relationships, but who also need to feel that they are able to authentically express their individual, unique identity while they’re making a difference in the world' really resonated with me since that could also be a description about myself.

I'm a Ravenclaw, a Leo and INFJ, by the way :)

I love Enneagram! I have only ever taken free tests or the test in The Wisdom of the Enneagram (which as I recall was literally only 2 or 3 questions) and have always been an 8w7. But sometimes I wonder if I’m actually a 7w8. 🤔 I am very confident that I am a combo of those numbers, but as you experienced, which is the primary and which is the wing can make a big difference!
