Let’s just cut to the chase: I am absolutely fucking *thrilled* to announce that the next book we’ll be (slowly) reading together on Sundays from February to April is Ruby Warrington’s Women Without Kids! The moment I read that Ruby almost called the book SELFISH CUNT, but couldn’t because (gestures around at all the people who wouldn’t get it) I knew it was the book for us.

This book has 9 chapters and so much to discuss. It’s basically a memoir, and it’s not just for women who are childfree by choice—it’s also for women who are childfree by circumstance, and, (importantly!) women who haven’t decided whether they want kids yet. Like Motherhood, it’s equally a celebration of women who have made this choice or found themselves existing happily in this place, and also an inspirational tool for those who are still on the fence and want to hear about life through the lens of women who don’t have kids and are happy or at peace with that. My eyeballs are tingling already.

As with the Sheila Heti Summer Slow Read, there will be a weekly Sunday podcast component to this little book club. But here’s where it’s different: I want to talk to you this time. Yes, you reading this right now! I’m looking for 9 women in this community who want to podcast with me and talk about being a woman without kids. Is that you???

For everyone who wants to read Women Without Kids this winter, our schedule will be roughly February 1 – April 5, with new episodes dropping every Sunday morning. The podcast will be partially paywalled, but I’ll have the first 10 minutes or so of every episode available for free so you can decide if you want to jump on board at any time :)
